Hi, I'm Jim
New to the forum, not new to explorers.
They are IMHO the best vehicles ever made.
I've driven x's for 8 years now, starting with my moms 94 XLT.
I bought my Y2K X last year.
I'll probably end up buying a 3rd gen in a couple years.
I'm also a member of PUTC if you ever drop by there.
Well just wanted to say Hi, I'll probably post a few questions soon.

What did you do to fit 33's?
I've got stock rims and uniroyal meats which I need to replace.
I'd like to find a beefy-er tire to fit the stock rims but what I've found will require a bit of shaving, and I'll still get tire rub at max articulation.
I was just in the process of looking up this subject when I saw your reply.

To fit the 33s, I did a 1.5" Torsion bar twist/shackles plus a 3" body lift. The only thing I had to trim was the tupperware that connects on the rears of the fenders to the rocker panels. I rub right now at full turn since I'm still on stock rims but if I went with a set of 15x8 or larger with 3.75" backspacing or less, I would have no problem.

You used a performance auto right?
I live in a townhouse so no place to do much of that type of thing, as much as I'd like to. We have strict rules about that kind of stuff, I swear, you raise your hood to check the oil and the next day you get a letter saying that there is to be no vehicle maintenance performed in the parking lot. I'd have to find a shop to put it in, but then I'd be worried if they really knew what they were doing.
Thats why most of my mods are superficial in nature.

Yeah its a pain dealing with the Columbia Association.. They're really tough on their rules. Yup it was a Performance Accessories body lift that was installed. Most places won't install the body lift for you around here, Mid-Atlantic and a few others do not install body lifts cause of the liability issue.

if you made a registry page or do make one, put a link to it in your sig. that's what a lot of people do so you can check out their truck without doing a lot of searching for stuff.

and don't get to friendly with blee.. he'll stick forks all in your yard (if you had a yard) or something if you do. he has a reputation of that.

I am slowly familiarizing (sp?) my way around the site. Like I said i am also on PUTC and thats quite a bit different so this may take a little getting used to.
I did visit ye ol chat room last nite and met a few peeps.
One question I have about the registry....do i need to be a paying member to do that?
Can't seem to figure that one out, but I'm gonna do a bit more reading on here and see if I can find the answer.

Yeah I got it figured out finally, I wasn't sure of the diff between elite registry and regular registry but I got it now.
