As far as performance air filters go, which is the better brand to go with? When you take $$ into consideration, the KKM kit is a better deal, but does it have the reliability and reputation that the K&N have? Also Ford Motorsports sells an air filter similiar to the K&N in Ford Racing Blue. Not that color means anything, but just curious which would be the best as far as performance gains go. My 99 4.0 SOHC is stock at the moment, the only other upgrade planned is a 50 series Flowmaster. Any info would be helpful. Also, has anyone that upgraded to a performance air filter kit, had to take their truck to the dealer for any type of work and did they mention the kit as voiding your warranty? Your answers are appreciated.
Thanks
Jason

I have a 99 Limited with the KKM air intake. For $89.00 you cant beat it. I have all my oil changes done at Ford and no one has ever mentioned my air intake. I know they look at it because the air filter "check" is not checked on their oil change/lube checklist.....

Jason, this has been discussed before on the board. Do a search and you'll find lots of info. We have had both and I think Rick went back to the K&N.
