Keeping the Factory Head Unit

OK, i have a 2002 Sport trac, with the pioneer 6cd head unit, with a factory sub behind the back seat. Now how could i keep the stock head unit, but have my sub, amp, and capicitor. ive sorta read about line out converters, but i didnt know if there is a specific way to do this with the factory sub hook ups in the back. Also would help if i knew the color codes on the wires. thanks

Or you can just splice into the wiring, but it's cleaner with a converter.

On mine I used the hi-lo converter that crutchfield suggested when I bought my amp+speakers and just spliced into the wiring, but I didn't have a sub, you could do the same for the sub tho...

thats cool, but I would still be stuck on knowing the remote wire color on the factory harness. thanks

I spliced into mine using a line out converter and it works perfectly.
