Kept dying when I would let off the gas.

I went to start my 99 4.0 SOHC explorer today and it would start right up but it would die if I didnt hold the gas in. I ended up having to start it in natural. If I let off the gas in anything but park it stayed running. After I got it going, I turned it off and back on and stuff to see if it would do it again but it never did. Any ideas?

Welcome to this forum! You should clean the IAC solenoid valve. Does it have a check engine light with a trouble code?

no the check engine light didnt come on. it did it the other day and has not done it again.
