Key in ignition chime/alarm?

Please help me, how can I disable this loud annoying key in ignition chime/alarm? Thanks in advance.

that would be a safety feature... hence, something you don't want to disable

You should be able to turn the key to on, then open the door and it will chime 4-5 times then stop if it's a gen 3...

Look in the dash to the left of the stereo find a black plastic box. Yor will notice it dinging and vibrating w/ key on. Turn key off, pop box open, see circuit board, a round thingy looks like a magnet, pop it off with a screwdriver or plyers and WALA, no more stupid dinger! YAAAAEEE! I also removed the little plastic thing that inteferes with the key moving in the lock cylinder. Held in with one torx screw that I put back in the spot and tightened down, then put all the plastic dash covers back on. Too many chiefs driving Volvos being paranoid thinking they will cheat death. When your # is up, so long pal! Nice ta know ya.
