Key pad question

Hi everyone! I'm brand new to this web site. I just got my 2001 Ford Explorer Sport (my very first real car) and I have a question.

Since I did buy it used, I don't have the card that tells me what the default code is for the key pad. I would like to find out what the code would be. I remember when my dad had a lincoln, there was a place in the car where the code was printed.

Do you know of any place where I might be able to find where the code would be printed? I really want to use the keypad

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to the board. You will find this site has a wealth of info on it.

It should be located on the computer module. I know on Mountaineers, this is located in the back, on the driver's side, over the wheelwell, I'm assuming Explorers are the same. Open your jack storage compartment and use a flashlight, look forward and you will eventually see a block with a 5 digit number on it.

It sounds like you have used the keypads before, but just in case not, the last two mumbers pressed together lock the doors...
