Keyless entry not working

OK, I got my code but it does not seem to be responding.

Any ideas?

I checked every fuse that could possibly be the one. I did not actually find a fuse labeled for the keyless entry but I checked every fuse that I didn't know what it meant. I even checked the box under the hood.

Just checking... did you get the code from your keyless door module or was the number given to you?
My code was given to me on a card when I bought my truck and it did not work. I had to get the actual code off my module and it was in fact a different number.

IF you have checked all the things other posters have mentioned about this issue, AND you are definitely sure you have the right code, AND you get the interior lights to come on for each button separately, THEN no one on this board has the solution.

Its controlled by the Central Security Module CSM located behind the rear passenger door, just over the wheel well.

As far as I can tell, no one on this site has ever repaired or replaced one on their own.

It will require a visit to the Ford/Mercury dealer. If your Key FOB's work then just be sure you can get to a spare FOB if you lose your keys.

For me, since my FOB's work, I decided to leave it alone.

Yes the keypad is lighting up.

At first I thought it was a loose wire or fuse as well but the keypad lighting up kinda makes me wonder.

I got it from the module.

The only thing I can think of (besides the advice in the post below yours) is maybe the module has been changed.

I may have to live without the keyless entry.

About the first paragraph...

The interior lights should come on when I press the keys? I don't believe they were. I'll have to check this out when i get home.

Does it mean something if the interior lights aren't coming on with the keypad?

if you press one button at a time and the interior lights come on, then wait until they go off and repeat for all the buttons, and the lights come on every time, then there is an assumption that the keypad is good, and any problem would be "down the line".

If they each don't turn on the interior lights, then it may be a keypad/wiring problem.

My personal opinion of whats wrong with mine is that the module lost the code in flash memory. I see flash memory chips losing and or corrupting data all the time in the work I do.

I'm not getting any interior lights coming on for any of the buttons.

The 7/8 button doesn't even get the keypad to light up so i am assuming this is the problem since there is a 7 in my code.

Is there a way to check the wiring to the individual key or is the whole pad shot? Is this something that can be replaced from a junkyard?

that's all i know. i searched for "keypad replacement" and "keypad repair" on this site with no successful results. It seems that it should be the pad or wiring for your vehicle.
