Wife says the keyless entry devices are not working... I already tried replacing the batteries in both remotes... someone said trying to disconnect the battery in the vehicle... no idea what good that would do but it didn't work... what has everyone else done when theirs quit working? Is this something only a dealer can fix? I hope not but if so I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and pay$$$ up.

Thanks.

Did you try re-programming them?

huh?

Okay please forgive my ignorance but... how do you do that?

Normally, this is the standard on Ford:

1) Turn key from OFF to ON eight times within 10 seconds ending
in the ON position.
2) After doors lock then unlock, press any button on the
remote being programmed.
3) The doors should lock/unlock to confirm programming.
4) Turn key to OFF and door locks should cycle one last time.

You can program up to four remotes this way, but they must
all be done at the same time (repeat step 2 for each).
