KIA: your thoughts?

I've got a buddy who used to be a mechanic at dealership and he tells me all the time what big peices of crap they are. Also on hyundai, my ex-girlfriends mom bought a Hyundai Santa Fe brand new. Had a great warrantee but she brought it there for an oil change and they charged her $110 for OIL AND FILTER!! I told her i would do it for cost of the oil and filter, but she declined  . Hyundai dealership also told her that her balljoints were no good, her roof-rack was deffective in some way (who knows) and made her pay ungodly amounts to fix these things and the warrantee only covered the balljoints. They screw her bad everytime she went there. Terrible really.

They have that for a reason... their cars need it. Personally, I would just use the same amount of money and buy a 2 or 3-year old Honda.

I was a mechanic at a local kia dealership for a year and I can tell you first hand that they suck. All of the models are just made bad. The sportages need new fourwheel drive systems about every 40,000 miles dause they go bad. KIA keeps redesigning them but it never seems to help! As far as the cars go, you can't keep an automatic tranny in them for more than 30,000. Same goes for plugs and wires. For example; A kia sedona (minivan) with 300 miles on it gets towed in with pieces of the piston and connecting rod in the console!!!!

Oh yeah and Hyundai owns Kia, not vice versa!

Sorry about that.

I stand corrected.

hey its an honest mistake, could happen to anyone!

They are still in business :( http://www.daewoous.com/

Upon looking further, their website does not list any 2003 models......maybe they did go out of business :D and they are just selling off the remaining stock

HAHA, even their website is crappy! just thought i'd share

Have u seen there web site?

kiamotors.com They have Military trucks on there:D Can I go to my local dealer and say I want a really capable 4x4 with Grenade lancher or a 106mm canon:D Why climb over stuff when you can blast it out of the way!!!;)

Kia is unfortunatly still in production even with 2004 models. but on the bright side of things, they bring alot of mechanic job openings to the area:D
