hi my name is chris and I just bought my very first car at 18 and thought it was going to be a peice of cake when I bought it for 600 bucks and all it needed was a heater core by once I got it home and took it on a test drive I found that I is burning oil but could that be caused by how broke. Down the oil is or by not having enough fluid in the radiator cause I now know there is not alot in it and it really needs an oil change which is what I'm doing in the morning I will also post pics of it
It it a 1988 2wd ford ranger XLT extended cab 5spd with the 2.9l in it I would really lOve some help I just put a nother 120 into it to give it a tune up at home and bleed the breaks and flush the radiator so if anyone could give me advise it helps alot
odom read 15xx could be 115xx or 215xx:rangertan:
Thanks Chris

Welcome to this forum! Are you sure that it's burning oil, and not leaking oil out of a valve cover onto the exhaust?
IT did not seem to be cause i also opened up the oil cap and there ways smoke or steam coming outa it and i dont think it could be a head gasket cause i just sold my explorer thast had a blown head gasket to get this one and there is no smoke other then what would come out since there is no muffler on it
