Hey does anyone know how to remove the cowl/grilles around the windshield wiper posts on a 97 explorer? I just had my heater core replaced and they forgot to put one of the windshield washer squirter hoses back on. ( It Sprays all over the roof rather nicely) I don't want to damage them since they are fairly delicate looking plastic and I can't find the screws or clips that must be holding them on. I know, dumbass question but somebody here has had them off and can save me some searching,
Thanks again, Fatcougar.:)

There is a small release lever at the base of each wiper. Use a quarter to pull it out and then lift the wiper arm assembly off the post. There is a screw in the center of the vents. Remove that and the two covers come off.

I knew it!!! I knew someone would have the answer. You da man!!! Thanks for the quick help. A nice quick little fix for tonight on a sunny pleasant evening spending quality time withe the Explorer and a cold bottle of beer. :D

LOL nice question, now i know how to take the damn blades off to paint em, at least i hope thats what ya mean.. and i hope it works for the 94 X :D

Nice one 2001Exp
you killed two birds with one stone and did not ever know it !!!

Actually, 3 birds. I posted the same question about 2 posts up, probably right at the same time (Although I do have another one in that thread that I'm hoping one of the resident experts can shed some light on.

Yup, it was just like 2001 decribed to get apart. The barb fitting that goes into the squirter head had broken off. This is a flimsy cheap little item, I will have to call Furd today and see if they have one in stock.
Thanks again for the help, FC.,:)
