Appears to be a vacuum bladder made of hard plastic that has been broken free from its support "under" the passenger side dash. My silly question would be what is the name of this "bladder"? I need to request the right thing so I can re-install it. It appears to have been kicked and broken from the flange that attaches it somewhere under the passenger side dash.

Sorry to waste time on something so trivial, but I AM hoping for some assistance.

I'm sure someone will chine in and may know what it is from your description, but a picture of the piece in question would sure help.

Are you talking about the hard plastic vacuum reservoir connected with one screw and one vacuum line? If so, the one for my 2002 is part number 19A566 with a list price of $108.98. Tousleyfordparts.com has it for $71.93. It's probably the same part for 2004 but you will need to check. You should be able to go to their site or another where you enter your VIN (fordparts.com) to find the exact part number. Perhaps a trip to the junkyard is in order...

I'll try to get a picture this evening. It is my daughter's Explorer so I do not have it with me to take a picture.

I would describe it as about 6-8" long and about 4" in diameter. It has a clear tube running to it, connected, and then continuing on. It is a hard black plastic item.

That sounds like it is the vacuum reservoir. If it isn't leaking, I would just use zip ties or something else to secure it under the dash without spending any money.
