kkm and k&n

ok hears the deal I have a K&N drop in in my 93 X. The kkm or drilling the air box sounds good, but has anyone had trouble passing inspection with these mods? if so what states have you had the problem in and what was you fix?

Do you have inspections in Alaska?

In Florida, we don't.

yes we have inspections in Alaska. we are a military family and are moving back down to the lower 48 this summer. Hoping to get to Colorado springs. any one know about inspections in CO?

i say if you have inspections don't do the mods so no problems. if your moving and worried about inspections simply put stock back on when moving or whatever. i don't think you should have any problems however.

You can install and use an aftermarket intake, just take it out and replace it with the stock airbox system for the inspection.

exactly:cool:

arent the k&n and kkm "50 state legal" its been a while since i got my kkm (3 years or more now.) in va we had inspections and i never failed.

K&N kits are 50 state legal. KKM's aren't, that's one reason the KN kits cost more. If you have a KKM, just put a KN sticker on it or just tell them it's a KN and that it's legal. You shouldn't have any problems.
