KNN Filter vs. KNN Air Intake Kit

I'm trying to decide between a KNN filter and a KNN Air Intake Kit for my 00 Explorer 4x4. Any thoughts on how big of an improvement the Air intake kit is over the filter. Has anyone had both?

The filter is just the filter. The intake system is the tube, couplers and air filter. Go with the air intake.

You have other options also: the KKM intake which is just a MAF adapter and a filter or the Mac Intake which is the chrome tube, bracket and filter.

All of these will be better than just a K & N drop in filter.

I doubt that just the filter will do anything for you performance wise. I would go with the MAC Intake because it seems like all of the MAFS bolt up to that; not the K&N intake system.
