knock/tick

i went throgh some deep water up to the bottom of the explorer i got through but it stald after i was though i got it started but now theres a knock more of a tick sound like lifters but the repar shop said its a rod some one told me its a push rod its been almost 2 months it hasnt got no worse or better could water do this or could it be something else

im hoping you flushed/changed the oil and checked for water in the cylinders immediately after this happened?

the shop change the oil said there was no water in the cylinders but said if some got in there it could of messed it up
