Does anyone have any knowledge of the Kurtz Kustomz true rev induction kit? I would like to add a little horsepower to my 05 sport trac and bolt ons are about the only way to go. Does it really add horsepower and torques? Any info would be great. Thanks

You're not going to be very successful adding any significant power to the 4.0 with bolt ons. Just a money pit and you'll never be satisfied, IMO.

Need to agree. Nothing significant, and I have a few bolt on "upgrades".
Added a modded throttle body, K&N drop in, muffler w/o resonator, and an XCal3.
The most beneficial was the SCT tuner because of the improved shifting and DTC
reading capabilities. The ST is a 4500 pound, underpowered, brick shaped truck.

Everytime I read about ST threads and wanting more power I get aggravated Ford only had the 4.0 in the 1st Gen ones... why? I just do not understand it!

Same reason Ford never put a V8 in the Ranger and GM never did the same with the S-10 and Sonoma. Insurance, design, space, lack of nowing what the consumers would pay $$$ and buy.

If they knew how much I'd pay for a 4 door short wheel base pickup with a diesel, they'd be producing it.

They do, just not for us American's. Dumbass corperate thinkers.

Lol! Well, granted the ranger, s-10, and sonoma didnt have v8's... look at the Kota or even the gen II Trac... what happened there??

The Dakota and 2nd Gen ST are on the same platform as their SUV counterparts. The 1st Gen ST has it's own frame design. Insurance and safety company's control, these things, just like the extinction of the musclecars in the '70's.

Well that really sucks. I love my sport trac but it is a little hard to believe ford made these trucks with such weak hp and torque numbers.

I coulda sworn s10's and sonomas were available with v8's,

rokr1292, they might've but it was probably in Australia, they get all the cool designs and options down there.

If you could still buy the Explorer Express supercharger kit, I'd tell you to grab one. It puts the fun back in my toy...and makes trailer towing a breeze...

(and no, mine's not for sale...lol)

What happened there is they forgot how bad the Ranchero was and made another car with a bed. They put a truck grill on it and even threw in a V8 option, but still, it's a car with a bed. I hope nobody from the 2nd Gen hops over here and reads this.

LOL, I like the Ranchero and El Camino. They're more truck like than the 2nd Gen ST. I like the 2nd Gen but it is more car like then most trucks out there. To each their own though, not everyone likes the 1st Gen ST.

Lol, our 2nd Gen neighbors might get a little upset at all this :P

seems like the explorer became less of an explorer from 10 years ago to today... it went from being capable and a Sport Utility to a glorified mini van...

Can't imagine what a Gen 3 or 4 ST would be, with the current Explorer platform. (FrankenTrac)

A four door Ford Courier with Festiva suspension.

I could've sworn I've seen some 4.3 4door s10 blazers. The "Z" series or whatever.
