KYB GR-2's: anyone had to replace the upper mounts?

I know its a good idea to replace the upper mount regardless if its worn, but has anyone encountered HAVING to replace them with the KYB specific upper mount kit?

I am ordering a full set on Monday/Tuesday and want to order everything I need at once.
