Anyone have experience or insight into why the Lamp Outage Module (located in the center console) would suddenly try to catch fire? Lots of acrid electrical smoke, lots of circuit board charring, luckily it burned off the electrical connections before it ignited the console. In the end, it took out the connection to the brake lights.
The auto electrial shop that identified the problem says they are familiar with this problem in Fords,...Ford says they have no knowledge about this issue, but they also have a service bulletin out for this module melting.
