Hey guys. I've searched and search with no avail. I have a 2001 Explorer Sport. My tranny has seen its days and I am looking to do a swap to the M5OD-R1.HD. I know there is hundreds of posts on what and how to do this and that but nothing answers any general cost questions.. Which are pretty damn important.

For a complete swap to the M5OD-R1.HD from stock Auto. What exactly would I need and what would each thing generally cost? Does anyone have the knowledge of this so a list can be made for everyone to reference. Thank guys. Not looking for a writeup, just a list of parts needed with good estimated prices.

I did this swap on my 99 2wd Sohc and this is what I needed.

Junkyard Tranny- 130-200
New Flywheel with pilot bearing - 75
New Clutch kit- 150 to however much you want to spend for a high performance
New clutch master Cylinder (comes with reservoir)- 45
New Slave cylinder- 50
Clutch hydraulic line- junkyard probably like 10 bucks just get it when you get the tranny.
Pedal Assembly- 15 junkyard
Floor cover that shifter goes through- 5 at junkyard
Rear engine cover- pull at junkyard or new for 50
Flywheel, pressure plate, and bell housing bolts- 35
5 speed drive shaft- 35
5 speed starter- junkyard 30
I already had an SCT x3 tuner which are like 300 if you buy it from hensonperformance.com james will give you 3 tunes, or you could try and find a computer from a 5 speed truck with your year, engine, 4x4 or 2wd, etc.

I believe that is it, oh you might as well replace the tranny mount while your there, 20 for that.

I probably spent around 700 not including the Tuner that I had purchased many months before planning the swap, and sold my auto for 220 so about 500 which was totally worth it, best mod by far.

Awesome. Well my uncle owns a junk/ auctioned cars yard. He can get me a 2002 ranger with like 70k miles for like 400 of 500 bucks. If I put my 2001 sport side by side with the Ranger, would I be able to easily swap the parts?
