leaf spring question

I just looked under my 95 explorer sport and realized that there is only one leaf spring on each side with couple metal plates underneath the leaf. Is that normal? does that indicate the explorer was lowered? I m assuming there needs to be more than just one leaf spring correct?

monoleaf

The Sport came stock with monoleaf springs. They weigh considerably less than metal multileaf springs but sag after many years just like multileaf springs. I replaced mine with 3 plus 1 overload springs. See this post in my Registry: Rear springs

i had no idea, that was normal thank you, I looked at other explorers and they had multiple leafs but those were 4 door explorers. Thank you very much.
