leaking Antifreeze

has anyone had to replace their intake manifold gasket?
I was leaking antifreeze real bad. None of my hoses were or ratior were bad there was a lot of antifreeze around my water pump so I replaced the water pump because that was the only place that could see that had fresh antifreeze on it so after the long process of that. I drove it up north stop and noticed it was still pouring out. I took it to a shop and they say its my intake gasket. Ive heard there is a lower and upper gasket. How big of a mess will I be getting myself into doing this? Any secrets i should know?
I pretty mechanically inclined. but the only work Iv done on ford engines was the water pump.
any suggestions would be great or any Ideas what else it might be would be great too
