Ive got a slow leak coming from my front axle. Is there anything i can put it it to slow/stop the leak. I read one mention in an old thread of adding 2 ounces of break fluid, is this a decent solution? any other ideas?

edit: i cant tell if the leak is from the drivers side axle seal, or the cover plate

How slow is 'slow'? How big a spot is on the ground if the truck sits overnight?

I've had a leak in mine for a year or two. I get a silver dollar size spot overnight. Mine leaks from between the diff and the axle beam. I just add gear oil when I wheel, and don't worry the rest of the time. It's easier and cheaper than tearing the whole thing apart to reseal it.

mines just slightly more than that. im thinking that may be the route since i dont use 4wd much. It takes all of 2 minutes to fill it up anyway. I was just wondering if there might be something i could add that would help to seal it up

edit: lucas oil stabilizer perhaps? anyone use this stuff in their diff?

why not try and bead some RTV in the spot? Clean it up real good, rough it up with some steel wool, see if you can patch it up.

i cant see exactly where its leaking from. its either the bottom of where the cover meets the diff (was considering rtving that) or the drivers side axle seal, or something else up there i cant see. But yes im thinking ill clean the bottom, and rtv it and see if it still leaks
