Just want to let others know that our 2006 XLT was also leaking from the radiator. Our dealership helped us contact Ford who has agreed to pay for 1/2 of the repairs. It's worth the call as it's saving us over $300.00

Over $600 for a radiator, wow.

They can be had for $150ish from online parts store and it took me less then two hours with minimal instructions the first time.

I have had two leak, an '02 with 86k miles last year, and my '05 with 38k miles this winter. My neighbor has also had leaking radiators in there exploders. All four leaky radiators, my two and the neighbor's two, were told by our dealerships you are SOL since you out of the warranty.

Now its funny how my '00 was still going strong on the original radiator at 100k plus miles a couple years back when I sold it.

I bought a radiator once from visteon (ford OEM) and got to speak with a tech support person at vistoen who worked directly on these radiators with ford. The problem is the seal between the tanks deteriorate, especially if there are very cold temperatures. Believe it or not it was a big problem in 95 and 96 (there is a TSB) and is happening again with the 3rd gen explorers.

5 - 600 bucks is what a shop will charge to change a radiator though, with their markups and labor. If you do it yourself the part like others said in the thread is around $200. If you buy a cheap China radiator, then you are taking a risk, but from what I read about these Ford units you may be better off with those.
