I was on a 4-hour road trip yesterday in my 2018 Sport, and I was occasionally toggling the "information display to monitor both mileage and TPMS tire pressure readings... when I noticed that suddenly, the display would stay "locked on to" whatever the last thing was that I had looked at... and, you could no longer toggle in or out on a display field... you were just stuck there. You couldn't reset the average mpg, for example. All you could see was the last item you looked at. The "OK" button on the steering wheel is also unresponsive, when it is acting up.

However... if you waited a few minutes... then sometimes it would all come back and operate properly... that is, until it goes back to being "stuck" again!

Thinking it might have just been some kind of random software corruption issue, I completely disconnected the battery and let it sit there for an hour. Once powered-up again, the problem is still occurring intermittently.

While this is not a major issue (I've never had ANY issues with this car so far), it IS annoying and frustrating!

Anyone ever seen this before, or had some kind of repairs done (to clear it up)? I'm kind of at a loss so far, on this annoying issue!

Hi Bob. I haven't read about that specific "sticking" or unresponsive issue before, but there have been instances where the display had to be replaced.
This thread mentions some issues with those displays. Information Screens Go Blank
Good luck.

Thanks, Peter!

I wonder if performing a Master Reset would have any chance of mitigating this issue?

I would be looking at the switch pack or the clock spring under the wheel. A decent scan tool will alert to communication failures even though a CEL is not showing. When it is unresponsive try turning the wheel in some different positions and push the switch and see if it will then work.

Thanks, Peter!

I believe a Master Reset is only effective on the Sync 3 system. I don't know if a negative battery cable disconnect would do anything. It looks like an intermittent software issue.

Interestingly... the problem simply disappeared about 2 days after I posted this!

It's been OK ever since? (Fingers crossed).
