What have you done to replace the stock radiator with a better aftermarket one? My stocker is leaking and I'm going to be putting on a 2" body lift, so there is no time like the present to replace the stocker, shroud, and maybe go to electric fans.

Not on an Explorer but on my BMW I had a tube and plate type radiator.
It worked so well that I eliminated the clutch fan and just ran the OEM 2 speed thermo fan.

38 degrees C, about 100F, in stop start traffic and the air con was working fine with no overheating. BMW air con is not known known to be very effective.

Now that I have the regular kind of radiator I've had to put the fan back on.

Electric fans are nice especially for gas mileage (less drag ) I prefer stock rad and replace with metal fan. You can usually find them at junk yards. Maybe I'm a little bias since I am a little Leary of electric fans... My 78 mgb is having an absolute malfunction right now with electric fans being able to turn on and off.

I'm running a full aluminium race radiator in my explorer and it works great, it cools better than stock with no compramise to heater. I've had it in there for about a year now.
