4 wheel parts has a set of 4 pro comp es 9000 for 139.99 with free shipping. Summit racing also has pro comps for $34.95 a piece. But they charge a handling fee of around $10, but the last 2 times I ordered from summit, I also got $10 and $15 summit bucks. And with summit I usually get my order within 3 days via fed ex. I am looking at the 9000s for my sport, but will be replacing the rears first, because I have the monroe sensatrac load adjusting shock with the coil over the shock and is just way too stiff with my 4 door springs.

i have Rancho RS5000 all the way around and not too happy. only been on a bit over a year and the fronts are shot. besides , i was wanting something a bit stiffer anyway

pfeffer1728, there are a couple truck stores down here in Auburn just go like you are going out to tiger town and truck stuff is across for home depot, then theres another one if you are on opelika road past the mall coming from Auburn. dont know if they have procomp shocks but there are a couple places here in town.

i had rancho RS5000 on my old X and loved them, they went to hell and back while on my truck, now i have RSX's on my truck and they are great too, sometimes you can get a buy three get the fourth deal and thats a great deal, they are a little bit more like $50 a shock but they are self adjusting, ie stiff on road soft off road,

im back in birmingham for the summer so ill probably end up ordering online. i found some procomp es3000s for 140, and the 9000s were only about 10 bucks more, so i may go with that. are nitrogen shocks that much better?

I'm still trying to get rid of my brand-new Monroe Sensa-Tracs. They're off a '98 4x4 and will fit a 2wd. The Rancho RS5000 are re-badged Sensa-Tracs.

They were a warranty replacement, never installed, including all hardware. $100 to your door in the lower 48.

I also am looking for new shocks but would like something better than the pro comp or Rancho shocks. What would you recommend? I have 20" rims and the ride is a little rough with the factory shocks.

ok guys, im more than probably going to order the procomp es9000s...the nitrogen ones. anybody have these? got a decent review? any horror stories i should be worried about?

The Rancho RS5000s are completely different than sensatracs. Ranchos use a celluar design, while monroe uses a pressurized design. If you compress the ranchos, they do not rebound back, its not their design, but if you do it to a sensatrac, they will rebound. That being said, I've had both, the Rancho is a much better product, but gave me a stiff ride. The sensatrac handles a little bit better though.

I mis-typed.... I meant that the RSXs are a re-badged Sensatrac. The RS5000 is a step down from the RSX.

Not to start an argument, but in any case, they most definately do rebound back. They can't be gas charged and NOT rebound. As the gas tries to expand, it will push the piston out. If it doesn't, either the seals are too tight, or the shock has lost its gas charge, and the oil will foam with hard use. Furthermore, I've installed the Sensatracs, RS5000s, and RSXs on my vehicles and all of them have expanded when the shipping band is cut.
