Hello.

I am, my name is Fran, I'm Spanish, I'm new to the forum. I lifted my Explorer 2" with shackles and twisting torsion bar and like to change about the socks "RANCHO"... but which to choose?.

Sorry for my bad english

Thanks and greetings from Spain friends.

When I bought my shocks, they were for vehicles with 0-2 inches of lift...so my guess is that in most cases, 2" or less is ok.

your english is pretty good

Hello.

The problem is that I have the catalog of "Rancho" and do not choose to shock, some longer and shorter but that will not be good for my Explorer.

Thanks and best regards from Spain.

The real question is how did you lift your truck? If you simply did a torsion twist and some rear shackles, the stock length shocks are all you need since you really haven't changed anything significant.

Exactly, just turn the torsion bar and increasing shackles length.

Another question. To install the shackles, the rear leaf (spring???) have become too straight, which may be due?. I mean, have lost the curve. Pictures will soon.

Please be patient with my English ;) in spanish these things are called differently :p:

Thanks and greetings friends !!!

that's called spring arch, from what i've seen it always looks like that after installation of shackles

That's what happened on mine. Is that bad? Would it help if I replaced the worn-out shocks?

Also, to echo from earlier, factory-length shocks are perfectly acceptable.

shocks don't affect spring arch because they don't provide any lift. The only thing that will cure sagging is an add-a-leaf, which is kind of a band-aid fix for that because it will just sag eventually anyway. (i'm also not sure if the difference is even noticeable, i've seen them up close and couldn't tell that anything had changed.) Or, a new leaf pack. There's another thread somewhere around here that the guy used a 3" lift spring pack for a 1st gen ex i think.

edit: hey look at that, still on the 1st page

Yeah I was just looking at that thread, now I'm just wondering how he found that leaf pack on ebay and for how much.

That's what I had gone through the head, replace all the leaf (spring) other 3" lift.
