Maniak, have you checked that something wasn't binding? (that steering stabilizer maybe?) I can't say I've ever run into a situation that I couldn't steer well on the various setups I've had...

As far as we can tell, nothing is binding. I did used to catch the tie rod adjuster sleeve bolts on the drop brackets, but thats been fixed (bent the heck out of drop brackets doing that)..

I only had "hard" steering before but since getting more travel using the extended radius arms and longer shocks I can get it to the point where it just won't turn.

Next time it does it I'll try to get someone in front of me to take pictures of how everything is sitting.

well, there isn't much you can do about binding. In my set-up tie rod adjusting sleeve did bind on the axle drop bracket and there was nothing I could do about it; that's the way our front ends are designed, not really one of the best set-ups for flex. Either replace that with solid axle or better yet, replace and go with hydraulic steering which I don't thing is legal in the US...

lol, yeah I've had the sleeve catch the bracket once too (this was before I shimmed the axle forward some at the RA bushings, now there's easily an inch or more clearance).

I'm sure you've seen me post pics of mine all crossed up, the closest thing to "hard steering" I've ever run into is with Ford's anemic power steering pump. It don't take much to completely overwhelm it particularly with the front locker engaged. Maybe a Saginaw pump upgrade could help.

ok here it goes i have been trying to find shackles for the back of my xlt..Were can i get the ones for my explorer..everyplace i look it says jeeps do they still fit the explorer..any good sites that i can use

you need a set of Warrior Produst war-153. Those fit your truck
