I just bought a 2001 ranger 4.0L. At first I thought this problem may be a ping, but its not a loud noise. It is only present under light to moderate acceleration if I am gently accelerating or mashing the gas I dont hear it, only when moderately accelerating. Sounds like a deep toned ping, almost like a gurgle but is relatively quite, I can definately hear it but it is not real loud. Any ideas what it may be? Any ideas would be great!
