Likely time spent on these upgrades

I have a convenient bartering arrangement with my local mechanic and am curious about the time necessary to do the following modificationsall bushings ordered from Explorer Express)

1. R/R all 4 shocks (Monroe Reflex)
2. R/R Front sway bar bushings
3. R/R Radius arm bushings

I could manage the shock R/R, but am limited on time. SO what would reasonable time barter go for? Your estimations and advice are greatly appreciated. Hopefully these mods will get my truck riding decent once again.

Just as pure guess-timates:

The radial arm bushings depending on tools probably ~ 6 hrs.
The shocks ~ piece of cake > 1 hour.
The sway bar bushings( two near the frame, 2 near the wheels, I think) ~ 1 - 1.5 hour.

If he has the air tools to do it quickly and knows exactly how, the times will probably be less.
** After the radial arm bushings are replaced, you will probably need an alignment. Hope this helps.

Just Ask?

Call an offroad shop and ask them how much labor they would charge to do each item. Also ask what the hourly rate is so you can figure out time required for each job.

The radius Arm bushings cost me $165 for both with the Poly don't Squesh bushings installed.

I know that this post is a little old but I just wanted to let you know that you can pick up the poly radius arm bushings at Autozone for $3.99 a piece. I know it sounds too good to be true but I installed these about a month ago and they are soooo much better than stock. Also, it will make a big difference on time if you have the crossmember rivets removed and replaced with bolts. My truck already had them removed and I figure it saved me about 2 to 3 hours of labor. The total time I spent on the RA bushings and crossmember install was about 3.5 hours doing it by myself. Good luck!
