Limited Slip on 6cyl * cyl or Both?

I'm trying to locate a complete 3.73 LSD rear axle assembly from a 1995-2001 Explorer.

Were LSD's installed on both 6cyl and 8cyl models? Just trying to get a targeted search.

I believe all v8s came with 3.73 lsd. Not 100% sure on that though

I got one today. If the VIN the yard gave me is accurate, it came from a '96 4.0L 4x4.

Did you check the axle code ? For that 4X4 it should be D-4....That's what's in mine and it's a 4.0 V-6 4X4....

Yes. Originally they told me they had a 3.55 LSD that was already pulled. But when I looked at the tag it said "3 55" with no "L".

I told them I just drove a long way and they basically said "sorry, all the others we have are still in vehicles and it will take forever to look at all of the axle tags. We don't have time." I asked him if he had time to open a few doors and look for "D4" on the tag.

Two hours later they had one pulled and in the back of my truck
