no..stock LS's arent the best..that's why i want a electric(sp?) locker!!

Limited slip delivers power only to the wheel that is spinning. Just like Chevys Possi traction does. There the same with different names.

most limited slips arent strong enough to spin both rear wheels at the same time due to their design.... however a rear locker will spin both under power all the time....

I've read that if you add an extra plate to the clutch pack, it will make it a little tighter. Anybody heard that?

In my drag racing days that was normal practice.

Holy old post.

The traction lock isn't a standard option, it is rare actually. Check the door jamb VIN tag for the axle code, a letter code is a traction lock.

The traction lock is weak and does not last long with real use. There is no wear in a straight line with no tire spin. When you spin the tires at a turn, that wears them out fast. They can last years, or very few months depending on how you drive.

The rebuild kit used to be under $50, and is easy to install. I bought two so that I could install four frictions per side instead of three. I learned to do that myself in 1998 with my 93 Limited. You can do the traction lock without removing the diff. from the vehicle. Good luck,

I hope that you didn't find this thread with the "New Posts" link, LOL.
