limited steering wheel replacment

I have a 98 sport. I'm looking to replace the steering wheel with one of those A/C and radio controler equiped wheels from a limmited. If i do this, does the radio wires plug into the headunit? are they even compatable with the premium sound head unit (Single CD and tape, Changer in armrest)

second, i heard it also has AC controles, is this true? will it plug into the stock, non limmited wiring? how big a job am i looking at?

its going for $100, which dosen't seem too bad. especially since it matches my interior color

I've got a '98 EB with the same wheel as the LTD and it has Fan speed, Radio volume, and Radio "mode" button on the right and Cruise buttons on the left.

The Radio "mode" button changes between radio, tape player, in-dash CD and CD changer in console.

Personally, I prefer the spoke location of the standard wheel without the extra buttons.

How do you like your 1.75" H&R spacers? do you have before & after pics?

does your eddie have the same kind of knob for the A/C heater as the XLT and Sport?

The Eddie has electronic auto. temp. control (EATC) with only a hot and cold button to control the temp. with digital readout for desired temp.. Fan speed is controled by up/down buttons on the steering wheel or a separate dial on the dash.

The system automatically determines if AC is required but has a Max. AC button to force the AC to turn on if required.

so i'd need the controle modual in the dash instead of the stock dials... is this easy to do?

For EATC equipped X's, there is an entirely different HVAC system that has a unique blend door actuator.

There have been a lot of problems with that system, mine included. Just to replace the actuator, it's a 10 hour job which involves removing the entire dash.

I would stick with the standard HVAC and you'll still get the radio controls you're after and possibly the fan controls. The only dead buttons will be the temp up/down buttons.

I failed to mention there is also a "next" button on the wheel that switches between preset buttons on the radio.
