Lincoln Aviator cooled seats- swap

What is your opinion of them?

I see they are available at some bone-yards close to me.

I am wondering if it would be worth it to try and swap in a set of Aviator cooled seats into my 3gen explorer.

I understand the power adjustments are on the door and I would have to fab up a new panel for that.

Has anyone done this before? Think it would be worth it?

I'm not to fond of the WHITE leather, but could easily justify it if the cooling function is very effective for the summer time.

Would I have to tap into a air duct to bring the cooled air to the seats I'm assuming?

The seats air system is self contained, you won't have to tap into any airducts.

Cooling is VERY nice.

Watch out for older seats or seats that show wear on the seat surface. The venting is via holes in the foam and over time (especially the drivers side) the holes will collapse and it will seem as if they aren't working.

I'm sure you can figure out a mounting system for the switches, they don't have to be on the door.

hmm, interesting, I don't care to spend the money on it right now, but at some point I will be buying new seats for my ex as I have never been satisfied with my current seats.

I would like to get seats out of a 4th gen or possibly aviator. I'll let you know if I ever do it.

the aviator seats are comfortable. thats the only reason id take on the engine and interior.

i just swaped out my eddie seats for sum limited seats it had the quad captins in it with a center console in the 2nd row i like them i havnt seen too many with them

Can you please post big pictures of your quad seating? I would like to see how tis plays out in stock manner. Thanks.
