I am currently working on replacing my thermostat housing and I had to take off something that has to do with my air intake. It rained today while I was out buying parts, but it didn't rain too hard nor do I think it rained sideways enough to do this. I don't know if this is water or oil or something else. But I noticed this with a flashlight getting a better look at the bolt I was wrestling with. Is this bad? Should I be concerned? I would post a picture but I don't know how.

It should be pretty easy to determine if it's oil or water. Dip your finger in the liquid and rub your fingers together. If it's slippery its oil. It's not uncommon to see some oil inside the intake manifold on older high mileage engines. If it's water, there's really not a way for water to get in there unless you're driving through high water. Dry it up and don't worry about it.
