Right now so everyone knows that I when and brought a 97 ford explorer after my 92 explorer will off the deep end.

I want to see where people are mounting seitches for certain items and where and how they are mounting driving lights. I just put a after market in replacing a the factory radio and there is a small compartment underneath and that where i was going to mount the switches but I would like to see pictures.

i've done about 10 different locations now- but my favorites are under the seat (right in front where you just reach down between your knees and they are there) and in the glovebox.

i have my switches i use on a constant basis (lights etc.) under the seat and then kill switches for various systems in the glovebox.

another very popular location is in the kleenex opening (i did that back when i had a stock console too)

I have two switches in my center console.

mines kind of rigged, but i took a peice of 16ga still and bent it kind of into a U so that it buts right up against the opening and the brace for the console, if that makes any sense.

the best way would be to buy a little piece of plastic from the hardware store (i know ace has it here) and drill holes in it for the switches then use the 5 minute plastic epoxy to epoxy it to the back of the factory piece and then wire up your switches.

I will have to post pics up tonight. I took out the ash trey and made a panel of 6 led switches that still has a cigarett plug in it too. Alll controled by a master foot switch off of an old vehicle (dimmer switch) Its not done yet but it is really cool.

hey loco i deffinately would like to see those

and thanks expo and tarheel for the advice!

Anyone that has swapped in an aftermarket stereo will know about the little kit you need to get it to fit in the stock opening. these can be found at walmart for like $15 or so, and give you a worthless little pocket thing under the stereo (you can see itin one of the above pics.) Im gonna buy another one and order somw switches online and graft them in to the worthless pocket thing.
