Location of the Brake pressure shutoff switch

My Cruise Control won't activate on my 2008 Ed Bauer V6 Explorer. Youtube tells me that the most common problem is the brake pressure shutoff switch. It is not located on the Master Cyl. Can someone tell me where it is? Also, I can't find anywhere which fuses are associated with the cruise control. Can anyone tell me which ones are?
I know how to turn it on and off. I've checked all the brake lights, and they're fine. The symptoms were, it was difficult to engage 1 day, the light would come on but not stay on or hold a speed....then it did. The next day it was completely inop. The light won't come on at all, no engagement, nothing.
Any suggestions?

The brake pressure sensor is typically near, or on, the master cylinder which is mounted to the firewall on the driver's side.

Thanks, Eddie. It appears the 2008 is atypical then. There's nothing attached to the Master Cylinder. And I cant see anything that looks like a pressure actuated switch in the vicinity of the Master Cylinder.
I'm wondering that because of the fire issue associated with the pressure switch, that Ford went with a brake position switch instead. Anyone hear anything about that?
My Chilton's Repair Manual for 2002-10 Explorers is less than useless... at least when it comes to Cruise Control.

It's connected to the brake pedal. There is a brake fluid pressure sensor too, the location on my 05 is the master cylinder. Replacing both didn't fix my cruise control.

The 3rd gen and 4th gen Explorers/Mountaineers mostly share the same components. The same brake fluid pressure sensor is used in all V8/V6 Explorer/Mountaineer models from 2002-2010. Also, the master cylinders from 2002 to 2010 are virtually the same. This leads me to believe the pressure sensor is located in the same area. The sensor looks like this:

Eddie, there are no opening on this Master Cyl to take a screw in pressure switch.

I just checked my master cylinder and the surrounding area. I couldn't find the brake fluid pressure sensor either. I wonder if the 4th gens incorporated it into the ABS system but then why would their be a part number for it as a separate component? The image I posted above is what it should look like and is the same part I replaced in my 2002 Explorer. I think you will need to look at a service manual if you can't get an answer here.

Found the electrical Speed Control cut off switch that Stynx showed me in an above entry. Checked good though. So, the brake lights check good, I can't find a fuse that is specifically for the cruise control, but everything else appears to be working...so I'll go past this one until someone can come up with a fuse for the CC. I've ordered switches to replace the CC ones in the steering wheel. They should be here this week. After that...I'm looking at the PCM. That's an expensive fix, so if anyone has any ideas for a 4th Generation CC that won't engage, please let me know.

CRUISE CONTROL FIXED!!!
Turned out to be a bad switch on the steering wheel.
Thanks to all that helped out.
Take aways from this....
1. Gen 4 Explorers don't have a Brake Pressure Cutoff Switch. They have an electrical Brake Position Cutoff Switch located on the brake pedal assy. You apparently should check the wires going to the connector also, as they will break at the connector?!? Go figure.
2. Check the Brake lights, if they don't come on, the brake light actuator switch needs replacing. Check all the fuses, as no one could tell me which fuses are associated with the Cruise Control. And check to see if the shifter actuator will allow you to shift from P to N without pushing the brake. If it does, the actuator needs to be replaced.
3. Lastly...the Steering wheel switch is the easiest fix, and cost $45 from Ebay for a replacement.
