so the rear passenger side automatic lock doesn't work, I have to lock and unlock it manually. this is a pain as I have an expensive sound system so I need to check if thats locked all the time
how can I fix this, is it easy?

Well, you need to take the door panel off and check to see if you get voltage coming to the lock actuator when you hit the lock button. If you do, then perhaps the attuator is toast (but also check to see if it has a ground). If you don't then you have to trace the wire back to splices which (I think) are in the door column on the driver's side passenger area. Check for broken wires that maybe in the passenger door column also.

Mine doesn't work on my newly purchased 2000 either. I hear it working for a split second and then nothing. I'm ordering a lock actuator for it. The driver's door didn't work either and I found a spring in the console where I didn't know where it went but upon investigating it I found it went into the latch assy! Took the latch out and reinstalled the spring (had to bend the spring where it had broke). The rear hatch doesn't work all the time either. I'm going to order an actuator for it. If you have keyless entry I would suggest disabling the auto lock feature as it does tend to wear out actuators! The actuators on both of my 94 Vics work great. I don't use them unless I need to lock the car.

Mine didn't work either, but fortunately it was a simple fix. When a local shop installed my new door speakers and soundproofing on the doors, they left just the slightest overlap on the lock pin. I dont know if you have sound proofing, but if you do, its worth a shot. hope this helps
