Could be a few things. Bad gauge, bad sending unit, bad ground, anti-slosh module took a dump, crappy connection...

I've been going through this on my 94. Worked one day & blinked out the next day. Tried a different slosh module and still had a dead gauge. It would start out on full then slowly go to empty. Got tired of pulling the dash apart & finally jumped the slosh module now it reads again. It's actually not bad without the feature, alot better than no gauge.

My gauge died 15 years ago. The trip odometer is my ‘gauge’ now. I reset it to zero when I fill the tank, and I know how many miles per tank I can get.
Not for everyone I know, but it’s an option!
