so I installed my amp and subs but i cant for the life of me find an 12v acc that will turn off with the car. I got a 1996 with the JBL system, im taking my signal from the stock sub amp and if i could splice a 12v remote from there it would be great. I see six wires from two connecters comin off the amp, sans the two sub signal wires, is there one there that will turn off with the car? right now im running it hot off the battery with a switch, but the switch keeps messin up and i always have my subs on so the capability to turn them off is not really important to me as long as theyre not on when the car isnt. thanks.

From my recent install..

run a wire to the switched 12v on the radio.

http://www.smlec.com/electronics/ford.htm says the switched is yellow/black, dont take my word for it though, i'd check it with a voltmeter or something.

My 91 XLT was yellow/black for switched 12v and some genius before me ran a crappy 12v constant from the battery (which I had to redo, it was about to short out on the firewall)

Oddly enough, the ground wire was red. You bet I checked that with my meter about 700 times with every switch in every possbile position before I hooked that to my HU. :-)
