Like the title says, I'm going to go look at a 2005 XLT today. Anything in particular that I should look for inside, outside, under? I've got my usual used car checklist ()brakes, underbody, suspension, etc.) in my mind but is there anything special that I should look for that's more specific to the '05 body style?
Thanks

Here is a thread on the same topic. http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=381577

Check the transmission as well as you can.
Get it up to 65 mph and listen for a noise in the rear end
If it is cold outside check for cold air by the glove box area.
Wheel berrings

For starters I would look/listen for:

Cracked rear applique
Rear glass hinges
Rear end whine
Timing chain tensioner noise
HVAC blend doors

thanks for the fast replies, all. we'll see how it goes

first was a dud but went and looked at an 05 with 50k miles today. all sounded good and looked good as well
