A few years ago I got a set of brake lines from a local speed shop. I went to get another set and they don't remember carrying the adapter/fitting we need for a first gen X (drivers side). I'm been doing some looking and checked with both speed shops in town and neither can find or know what brand adpater I have.

I know the brake line and the blue adapter piece is made by earles (holley). Its the T like fitting at the top that connects to the two factory inverted flare fittings and the brake line that I can't find. The one I have almost looks factory. All I can find are brass square blocks and they are expensive and won't fit the same way.

Here are a couple pics of the adapter I'm looking for. I know Earles does not carry it and Its not a russel part (at least it didn't come with a russle set of lines).

If anyone can find where to buy it, let me know..

Thanks..

Try "Hoseman"

If you need extended brake lines I used some from a 03 f2 superduty with RABS and manual hubs.

Anyone know? I need these exact same adapters.

I found "blocks" that work as adapter but I didn't like how big they were. I"ve seen other people use them and they do seem to work.

What I ended up doing was taking one of the factory lines (drivers side) and cutting the hard line part of the flex line flush with the fitting. I then drilled/tapped it for 1/8 npt.

Then I went to the speed shop and grabbed an extended brake line and a 1/8 npt adapter for it and viola..

I've actually done that on our X and a couple other peoples.

I've been told your not "supposed to" use npt fittings on brakes but its actually pretty common. Even the one I had/have in the first post that came with my extended line is using a 1/8 npt fitting.

um!
the help section in the local auto parts store?

Last time I looked, Dorman (Help section people) did not make that fitting.

I spent quite a while trying to find one and once I noticed they used a NPT fitting on the one I bought (in the pic) I said screw it, and built my own from a brake line I pulled of an X in the junk yard.

The local parts store did have some "block" adapters but what is pictured above looks stock and appears to mount the same way, sturdy and solid

So what you have pictured is just a 1/8" NPT fitting? I wonder if I could find that kind of adapter by looking for NPT fittings instead of brake line adapters.....

That may be it. Earles is one of the places I talked to. Maybe they added it since then?

They pictures Earles and Summit have don't show all the ports or where they are so I'm not positive it is the right one BUT, between the description on summit saying 3 ports and the description on Earles' website saying 3/8-24 IF makes it sound right.

BUT, even it is is right, you will need to get a brake line with the correct banjo fitting and a male fitting on the other end. If you don't get the male on the other end you'll need a gender changer.

The blue piece between the extended line and the block is an npt to I.F. adapter.
