Hi everyone,
I am lookin for a bumper/skidplate combo for my 96 Ranger. Does anyone know of a company that will ship one to me? I'm on the central coast of CA, so goin to a fab shop in SD wont really work. Thanks for any help.

your in california man. just drive down the street your where most everybody else gets there stuff from.

Well, thanks for responding, however I was looking for info on where to get a bumper, not a reminder of what state I live in. As I said in my post, I don't know of a place closer than San Diego that can do this, and that is a ways away from here (it is kinda a big state). That is why I asked for some help. Not a complaint, not a insult, just asking for help. I am sorry if i offended you by asking for help, but I thought this was the place to do that.

Have you looked at James Duff and 4WPW? Those two come to mind as good possibilities.

Im sorry bryan i didnt mean to insult you i was just saying your alot closer than alot of other people to all the good stuff. again sorry, im not trying to gain enemies here.

Bumpers? Skid Plates

Ryan,

Your'e right, This is the place to come for help! RangerX 's suggestions are excellent. Also, I guess you've "let your fingers do the walking" and checked the yellow pages for "Off Road shops in the automotive section. Have you picked up a recent magazine like "4 Wheeler", or Peterson's "Off Road", etc. They're usually loaded with adds for shops and munufacturers. Also, many guys have the "Pre runner" type of bumpers/ skids fabricated by a local welding or offroad shop.
You don't say where in "Central Coast" you live, but there's lots of stuff in Stockton & Sacramento. Do you have a a Pep Boys, or Kragen, or Autozone nearby? Often they can special order things for you even if they don't stock them, just ask. Fordkrazy's point was, I think, that we're really pretty fortunate wherever we are in Cal, as we have lots of O.R. resources here. Don't take it too personally :)

I guess i was wrong. I took it the wrong way. Hard to tell without tone or inflection because it is just written, not said. I have looked and grown frustrated because there are few off road shops and those are 4x4 specialists. I found one in San Luis that is willing to try and make one, but they usually make tube bumpers so I was hoping to finda another. I didn't even think about goin to kragen, thanks ray. Beleive me ford, i commited the party foul and yelled too loud, and am now blushing and feeling like an azz. Sorry.

Bryan, tell us what kind of bumper you'd like to find, and we might be able to help more.

check out www.camburg.com they have some ranger bumpers in there. Is that the style your looking for? If so i know tis a ways for you..But there are alot of fab shops. If you cant find a offroad place see if you can find a metal shop to make all the bends and welds for the bumper. This summer i'm going to have one made. similar to the one you see at the camburgs site. Just not camburg.. I've heard mixed things about them.
