So I was pulling some wires behind the A/C console, which means the A/C manual controller plate (see here) had to come off, and one of the 4 hex-screws unluckily fell somewhere deep within the car... frustrating, as I'm always real careful. Hoping to find it one rainy day, perhaps.

Anyway, I don't have any spares or similar screws and no matter what I search for I can't seem to find it among the fordparts / levittown websites. I think I've narrowed it down to be a 4.2/19mm "screw" that has a hex nut at the top and a washer, but that's about. Like these (which may very well be exactly what I need but I want to be sure).

They're also used to hold down the center console at the back and the radio and Sync screen as well. In fact, they're all over the car so I thought they must be pretty easy to find.

Anyone have a better idea where to look on levittown / fordparts for what the exact item # is?

A hardware store with a selection of screws/fasteners...Home Dumbo....Lowe's, if you can bring one with you for comparison.

I'm nowhere near one of those lovely American chains :) I'm in Switzerland, which makes "Ford Explorer" life way harder. I've been to 3 hardware stores here, including the very big ones for professionals, and there's nothing like it.

Sorry buddy, I live in Ontario Canada and there is town called Zurich here as well ! Furniture hardware store ? Grasping at straws now !

A big problem is going to find someone that will ship them internationally.

Second (20mm) or possibly third (16mm) eBay links from 1995E's post #4 appear correct.

$18.50 USPS First Class to Zurich, Switzerland. That will leave you with 24 spare screws. ;)

EDIT- Not OEM. Tasca link in his other post #6 are. $44.25 shipping for four tiny screws. Yikes!.

Thanks for all the help!

Yeah, shipping anything over here is absurd, and half the time customs decides to take 20% of the total price as well.. it's awful. Next time I guess I should buy a car that's actually sold over here :)

If you still have one of the screws take it down to a car dealer and check with their parts department. They just might have what you are looking for.

I'm certain I have a few extra after stripping door panel sheet metal from repeated door lock issues.

Would it be feasible to put a few in an envelope and send them to you for free? If so, PM me your address.
