I am going to start looking for a new vehicle. Does anybody have suggestions on whats makes and models I should look at? I am looking for a DD that will get pretty good gas mileage. I am going to keep my ex for a trail truck and start trying to get it more "trail ready". I was thinking about maybe a toyota camry or something like that. I dont want anything really small. Preferably a v6 rahter than a 4 banger. Any suggestions?

I'm really happy with my GTI. Maybe a VR6 Jetta? ;)

Great mileage, enough room even for my 6'3" friends (2 in the backseat with a middle passenger), performance, and fun.

What are you lookin to spend?

You can't go wrong with a Camry or an Accord. Both are excellent daily driver. The year you should get depends on your budget of course.

probably around $10,000 is my limit. I dont want to be paying it off forever, yet I want something pretty new with low mileage. Im a college student but I make good money at my job which I work full time.

I'd go with an Accord, Camry, or Corolla.

For 10k you might run into some problems for a new/low miles car. What about a Saturn or a Pontiac Grand Am? You can get both of those almost brand new w/ low miles for around 10k

Yeah, but then you still have a Saturn or Pontiac :banghead:

As opposed to sauerkraut?:D It's his daily driver. His real work will be in his X.

My girlfriend bought a '99 Civic with about 80k for $9,500 including Honda's Certified warrenty. It's not a bad deal at all.

What color is it Billy? I can't beleave Abby is driving man!

saturn...ummm no. Pontiac we all know what that stands for

Im really looking for an import because they seem to last so much longer than american cars.

ya pontiacs are great the first 50k then they just fall apart...not good long term for a lotta miles, id snag a maxima, 97-99 ones, those things run smooth and are quick

Big Red, if get the loan from the bank and can pay by check/mo/cc or whatever, I know a Repo Man in Utah that seems to have some killer deals...

That's what my GF's best friend said when she bought her 98 Camry...it hasn't been that great for her. I'm sorry guys, I just don't buy the whole "Imports are the bestest best cars you can get!!!!"
My mom's 76 Pontiac ran strong until we sold it 170K miles. My grandfather still had an 73 Olds that is in tip top shape after very little maintenance. American cars are reliable, just people beat the crap out of them and whine when something breaks.

I just had to say, I love the PONTIAC descriptor!!!:D

My girlfriend has an 02 camery SE and she already has over 35000 on it and not on problem and gets near 500 miles to the tank.My daily driver is an 89 accord LXI with near 200000 and it runs like a dream:D

Oh man...I can't believe she's driving either!! In fact, she and another coach of her cheerleading team drove to Disney World for cheerleading competition this past week and just went back to Raleigh last night. She's such a brave girl!! I'm sooooo proud of her.

It's a forest green. It's a very beautiful color. It's also an EX model with a sunroof and CD player. She loves that thing to death!!! She'll be coming over next weekend so I'll come over with her car and let you see.

To each his own. It's all personal preference and experience, I've always had better luck with American myself. Either way, one of my coworkers loves her 95 Maxima, I have to admit I was quite impressed (still prefer Ford;) ), Great little car too, very nice interior and performance. I would probably go with a Maxima before a Camry or Honda...

a friend of mine has a late model camery and it just looks, feels, and drives cheap inside and out. cheap, awkward interior, feels like a tin can going over bumps, and has an embarrasingly weak engine that sucks equally over the entire rpm range. i guess he probably has the most basic model but toyota cars in general have never impressed me. i'll take one of their trucks any day though :D

if i ever get a car it will probably be a crown vic police interceptor...tougher than 90% of the trucks out there...
