Looking for general info

Just got my first Explorer a few weeks ago. It's a UK '00 North Face. What repair manual books do you experts recommend. All I'm after is a better understanding of the various systems and components so that I can do simple repair work myself. I would also be interested in finding out more about the engine management unit and its diagnostics.

eitehr a chiltons or haynes repair manual are what most here use, you can also get the factory service cd that the ford mechanics use off ebay for cheap sometimes....
