I have a 98 Ex, 5.0 4dr XLT ....My wife is short and my kids are young..my kids are tearing up the bottom rubber gasket but continually stepping on it. Wife just kinda hops a bit to get in .....problem I have (or might not be a problem, only your Explorer pros know for sure), it appears I have some stock body cladding running from behing the front tire to the front of the front fender....it is certainly stock, but I hate to buy something and have it not fit..then have to return and start looking all over again.....anyone know of what I can do, where to go?"?????
Thanks in advance!

I have a set of running boards, they're grey, off of a 2000 mountaineer. They're in Humboldt, KS if you interested.

edit: I could probably get them as far as Broken arrow, OK as another member wants my exhaust and alternator, and I could probably get him to take them back with him.

I have gray 4dr side steps if you want them. They have some surface rust and they're in New Jersey, so this will be alot harder. Like I said they are side steps. They just bolted to the body on mine but I don't know it a '98 has those same holes. If anyone can clarify that, that would be great.

I have a set that I took off soon after I got my '99 4dr Explorer XLT. I live in Washington, so shipping might suck, but let me know if your interested.

They can't weigh too much, most of it is plastic...

before I took them off:
