The thing that had the most positive affect on my 97' Sport was changing the mono leaf springs with the four leaf pack leaf springs

Hey JOHN V. is that the scoop you were selling for $109? It looks very nice molded in like that. Do you have any instructions on how to go about molding it in?

Upgrading the springs to a multi-leaf type would have a positive affect. But it would be a lot of work. Upgrading to our X-Spec Sway Bars would be an easy way to get noticable improvements related to handling & stability.

That hood scoop is actualy the Mustang Cobra Jet style that is moulded in. Moulding in a hood scoop requires some skills and patience. I am sure that you could handle it XF. I do not have a source for that scoop. You may want to check out some of the vintage Mustang web sites.

This scoop pictured below is the one I have for $109.95 (primer) or $174.95 (painted). It could easily be moulded in and would have the same effect.

Swapping out leaf springs is fairly straight foward as long as you have some basic hand tools, a floor jack and some jack stands you can swap out the leaf springs in less than 2 hours.

john- is that hood scoop figerglass? or abs?

what process do you recommend for molding it in? i'm pretty good at this stuff ya know? i actaully am just completing sanding on this (picture below) your x dam molded into my bumper witha couple of other tricks.

The hood scoop we sell is fiberglass. Body work is not my thing. There are right ways and wrong ways to mold in a part like that. Honestly, I am the wrong guy to ask.

so long as its fiberglass andnot abs i know how to do it

i'll pick one up in a few weeks

if you make the scoop mold into the hood, and make an opening for air to enter the engine bay, is there any neg effects of getting water in the engine bay? or would you make a open/close mechanism so when it rains or snows you can shut it and open it in good weather.

Most of the time you hit a puddle water gets in there.... I dont think it would be too big of a concern.

The problem with making an opening (hole) in the hood is that there is an x-shaped brace under the hood. So you could only make a few small holes. Which would still bring air to your engine. Water would probably not be a problem. I like the idea of trying to make this scoop functional, but the additional air to your engine would not really be a big benifit. So it would probably not be worth the effort.

i actually think it might hurt performance.

it would stir the air around probably pushing more of the hot air from around the engine out to my k and n filter thus hurting performance. i'm planning on building a heat shield for my k and n anyways, but i don't plan on making the hood scoop ***tional.

anyone in for a group buy? lol- or forum discount...

what the heck happened to my functional up there? thas weird

Count on that auction to go upwards of $200 dollars. I saw another one for just the tails end at about $210.00
