I have seen Stainless Steel ones on ebay for about $120 plus shipping. There are several sellers who always keep a auction running for buy it nows.

im looking for a set for my 2007 sport trac. any suggestions?

What finish are you looking for? I just ordered a set of black Dee-Zee bars for my '09 ST from Summit. About $300 shipped.

Stainless steel. i had a set i bought a year ago. the fit didnt look good. when i would step on the bar, the body panel would flex. was hoping to find a set that would utilize the frame some how.

Dee Zee makes the same bars I bought in black in stainless as well, P/N 372683.

Thanks!!
one question, how does it mount to the sport trac. meaning does it get supported by the frame or like most other designs, supported by the under panels.

I haven't gotten my shipment from Summit yet, but I'll let you know... By the looks of the pictures, it seems they may attach under the body like most. Here's a picture from Summit's website. Doesn't look like the brackets are long enough to attach to the frame itself.

The stainless one mounts the same way, I'm assuming.

Hope that helps.

I too would only want them if they mounted to the frame. Maybe they are protecting us from ourselves. If you were to drap the bar on a rock it might bend the frame if connected there.

I'd agree logically, but don't most rock sliders mount to the frame, or at least to reinforced hard points that are braced to the frame?

Mounting to the body seems to be the way to go. Even the stock Ford ones do.

I agree... Once I get my bars installed I'll let you know if the sill flexes at all like you've described.
