I went to a wreckers to get a few parts last week. While there, I saw this switch in a dash bevel and thought it might make a great control switch for a small LED bar I want to install in my centre console so I brought the entire dash bevel home... However, I'm having difficulty identifying the true nature of this switch / relay...
It's located just to the right of the main headlight control cluster and just below the far left dash air vent. It's an oval switch that has "Off" at the top. On the bottom of the switch within a recessed part, is a "P" and what looks like radio waves emitting down and to the right towards a traffic cone.
On the rear of this switch there are five wires. From the bottom there is a blue/black, black, red/black and a pink. Then beside the pink there is a second black.
I've taken my continuity tester and I can only get a current to go through the blue/black wire and the black wire next to it while I'm holding the button down. There does not seam to be any contact between any of the other wires regardless if I'm depressing the switch or not.
Anyone have any ideas as to what exactly this switch / relay is for?
Thanks in advance!
